In this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly
, Harry Potter director Mike Newell discusses the fact that he is nervous about showing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to movie executives in two weeks. The article also states that work has started on Order of the Phoenix and that Daniel Radcliffe will return: "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down."
"I'm terribly pleased with the film," says director Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco) of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth movie adapted from J.K. Rowling's series of novels, due Nov. 18. In two weeks, Newell will screen his work (minus completed special effects) for Warner Bros. brass for the first time. Nervous? "Of course!" he says. "This is a story where the kids [are] now teenagers. Is the audience ready for an older Harry Potter? They bought the book--I just hope we present a Harry Potter they want to see." Couldn't have set the stakes better ourselves.
Work has begun on the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. British TV veteran David Yates will direct, and screenwriter Michael Goldenberg follows Steven Kloves. Harry is still good to go. "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down," says Daniel Radcliffe, 15, who wouldn't rule out doing a non-Potter film before starting part 5 in January. "But it would be a mistake to want to show you can do stuff other than Harry Potter so badly that you just rush into something."
This week's issue with Tom Cruise on the cover hits newstands today.
Reminder: Since Warner Bros. has not yet released the cast list for Order of the Phoenix please treat this as a rumor till confirmed.

I can't see anyone else as Harry, Dan is Harry. Someone else would feel like a betrayal. The Dumbledore shift was diffiult enough, and now possibly no Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid! How are we to bear it?

Wow, I am so glad to hear that Daniel Radcliffe is still on for the next movie. I hope the whole cast will stay the same. The movies won't be the with a new cast.

It's great to hear Dan is staying on for the fifth movie. If they started to replace the cast, I know for a fact less people would go to the movies. They wouldn't be the same either, because every actor/actress is different, and they each have a different acting styles. Therefore, the movies wouldn't seem quite right.

Oh! I do hope the executives like the movie- I would hate for them to want to go back and change anything! I hope the news about Daniel being in OotP is true. I don't think the movies would be as enjoyable without the familiar faces.
