In this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly
, Harry Potter director Mike Newell discusses the fact that he is nervous about showing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to movie executives in two weeks. The article also states that work has started on Order of the Phoenix and that Daniel Radcliffe will return: "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down."
"I'm terribly pleased with the film," says director Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco) of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth movie adapted from J.K. Rowling's series of novels, due Nov. 18. In two weeks, Newell will screen his work (minus completed special effects) for Warner Bros. brass for the first time. Nervous? "Of course!" he says. "This is a story where the kids [are] now teenagers. Is the audience ready for an older Harry Potter? They bought the book--I just hope we present a Harry Potter they want to see." Couldn't have set the stakes better ourselves.
Work has begun on the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. British TV veteran David Yates will direct, and screenwriter Michael Goldenberg follows Steven Kloves. Harry is still good to go. "My enthusiasm has absolutely not gone down," says Daniel Radcliffe, 15, who wouldn't rule out doing a non-Potter film before starting part 5 in January. "But it would be a mistake to want to show you can do stuff other than Harry Potter so badly that you just rush into something."
This week's issue with Tom Cruise on the cover hits newstands today.
Reminder: Since Warner Bros. has not yet released the cast list for Order of the Phoenix please treat this as a rumor till confirmed.

Wow - i don't know anything about the latest director adn screenwriter - except that i did read contact and see the movie and it was - as i remember fairly true to the book so there is hope for OotP the film, something i do not have for GoF the film

Emma and Rupert NEED to be there for the OotP. The trio work so well together now that it would just make it awkward in the cast to change those characters, especially since they are the main characters.
The GoF movie release is going to be huge. It's the pivitol point in the story, just like the books, and I really want to see them do a good job with it.

Talking about Order of the Phoenix, it's a bad thing that they're not gonna open the casting call again. It's always a pleasure to know that people have a chance to appear at the movie. I mean, ordinary people that love HP so much.
I'm also a bit dissappointed to know that Steve Kloves is no longer the script writer. I don't know him, but after four movies... But maybe the new script writer will give a fresher touch.
What I hope the most, John Williams will be back. He's the best. No wonder Steven Spielberg used his works all the time.

I think its a really good sign that the director is pleased with GOF! i really hope this one isn't messed up.(PLEASE!!!!) i think we're all really happy the trio's come back. emma almost didn't do the third one....let's hope they stay long enough to finish the series!
