Scholastic announced
earlier this month that a boxed set of the first six Harry Potter novels -- from Sorcerer's Stone to Half-Blood Prince -- will hit shelves in October.
The retail price will be $158.94 and the ISBN is 0-439-82760-4. Booksellers will likely provide discounts off the retail price. Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders at about $100.

I already have all of the books. So buying the box set would be a huge waste of money. I think it'd be cool if I could find a box set of the UK versions once the seventh book comes out though.

Even though I do think a box set of all the books would be cool, why would they make a box set of the books when all of the books in the series are not out yet? It would make much better sense to just wait until the seventh one comes out...I mean its not like the attention to the Potter series is wanning or anything.

That box set is so expensive, yet so beautiful. I will wait till all the books come out. The thing is, I would be scared to see how much the price is for 7 books, let alone 4. I also woundn't want to touch it and read it, it is so much money.

I'm going to wait until the series is finished. I bought the box set with the first three. I can't even afford the $100 from Amazon, but alas, perhaps it will be a graduation present (especially by the time the next book comes out.)

I've gone through so many copies of each book it's not funny. So it would be good to have a 'special set' that doesn't actually get used a lot. I do think that I will wait until the whole series is available though. I can't really see the point of buying an incomplete collection.
