Scholastic announced
earlier this month that a boxed set of the first six Harry Potter novels -- from Sorcerer's Stone to Half-Blood Prince -- will hit shelves in October.
The retail price will be $158.94 and the ISBN is 0-439-82760-4. Booksellers will likely provide discounts off the retail price. Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders
at about $100.

I would love a boxed set, but I think I'll wait until the series is finished so I can have the entire set. Who knows, maybe that'll entice my children to begin reading Harry as well!!

That is really neat. I can buy, or suggest that my cousin buys the set, so she doesn't borrow my books, or wait months for them at the library.

I would love to get this but that price is way outside my budget. I think I'll also wait for all the books to come out first. Then I'll definitely be getting my moneys worth.

That's great! But, I already have the first 4 in a boxed set, so I think I'll wait until the end of the series.

That is quick. I wish that I would have waited for all seven to come out and then buy them as a set in hard back. I already bought OotP hardback when it came out and then bought 1-4 hardback set. It would be cool to have the whole 1-7 set in the complete box cover. Oh well, maybe someday I will buy the whole 1-7 set.

Maybe this is a silly question, but what is the point of a boxed set, if it is INCOMPLETE? A boxed set generally refers to the WHOLE thing, you know??? I want the whole thing! (and I want it in British, pure Jo!)

Just a question for everyone....Has anyone out there been reading all the books again to refresh on them for the sixth book? I was just curious. I've been trying to read all of them about a few days ago to get prepared before the sixth comes out~~I better hurry huh!!

That would be great but I'm not waiting till the fall to get HBP and I can't afford to get both, so one by one it will be for me.....

I already have the books so I don't plan on buying this box set. This set however is great for HP collectors or for a starter planning on reading the books. The price for the set is also satisfactory.

alexa Potter I am rereading the books also except I started abot 12 days ago, because now my whole family wants to re read them also.
And I don't understand what the point is of a boxed set at all. I have been buying them one by one, aren't they the same books? is there anything different?

I already own all the books because I've been buying them one by one so I don't think I'll get the boxed sets, but they look so nice. I think if I do get them someday I'll wait until the series is completed to book 7.

I already own all the American versions, but it would be excellent if they would allow me to buy a UK box set, but I don't think they do. Or even a paperback box set for the like half that price...

I wonder why they didn't wait till all 7 books came out. So when the 7th book comes out they will have to make a whole new set.

I think is kinda pointless to buy a box set now, althoug it is a great idea. I think i will buy one once they have on out for all whole series. I wouldn't buy a Star Wars box set when i knew there was still more to be made, ya know!
