Jason Isaacs, who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is becoming more like his character he says. In an effort to remain in character he avoids answering his fan mail, he also comments that he’s enjoyed playing Lucius and that he hopes that he will be in the next movie and that author Rowling continues to write Harry Potter books for years to come.
I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope. Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ... I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame.

I think that it is cute that he is portraying his character in more than just the movie!!! But, to really be like MR. MALFOY, he should only answer to kids with the largest pakages, because then he gets a bunch of stuff out of it!! That is what Lucius would do I think... (snobby/rich steeler!!!)

Hahahaha Oh he really liked his character then!!! But I think it's rude because if it was free sending letters ok....but it costs money to send letters...that's a bit rude. But I like his atitude towards Joe's writing till Harry is 65! Unfortunately there will be only seven books. :(

Well that is sure a good excuse to ignore your fans. Personally I think he's a jerk for doing that... and it has no effect whatsoever on how I feel about the character he plays. Perhaps he needs to learn the difference between reality and fantasy himself since he apparently doesn't know the difference. Of course he is free to answer fan mail or not but but at least have the guts to admit you're too lazy instead of some lame excuse about "staying in character"... I have three words for him... "Get over yourself"
