Jason Isaacs, who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is becoming more like his character he says. In an effort to remain in character he avoids answering his fan mail, he also comments that he’s enjoyed playing Lucius and that he hopes that he will be in the next movie and that author Rowling continues to write Harry Potter books for years to come.
I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope. Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ... I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame.

That is class. What a genious, not answering his fan mail just to stay in character and so to make people hate him. Genious. But I don't know if anyone has told him, but there are only going to be seven books no matter how much he wants them to last until Harry is 65 years old.

I don't know what to say, I like the guys acting, he is great and he does make you hate Lucius Malfoy, but to not answer fan mail I don't think that is going to help if he wants to be disliked as Lucius Malfoy.
If this is his aim then he needs to reconsider how he is acting. He does not need to act like a child and not answer fan mail that makes his fans hate him not his charactor.
One thing that a lot of actors forget is they make alot of money and don't have to worry a day about where their next meal is coming from nor how their bills are going to be paided.
He may get akick out of having some kid write him a letter and having to spend the his own pocket money but more likely that money was spent on him rather then something that kid wanted or needed.
I just hope he really reconsiders how he wants his fans to look at him because Harry Potter will not last for ever, his fans are growing up and he will end up in other movies does he really want to be the one known as the great actor not so nice guy, it is his fans who pay him something he should consider.

I don't think he needs to act mean in real-life for people to hate him more. He portrays Lucius Malfoy incredibly well and if you hate the character Lucius Malfoy you will probably hate him -- even though i don't. i think that it's really funny that he's doing this. he is really dedicated to this role.

That guy is awesome, although he plays this nasty and cruel character, he's failed to make me totally despise him. He's just like Alan Rickman who plays Severus Snape, I love that guy as well. Both act superbly and I hope that they both come back for the last three films. It just won't be the same without them. But after all these comments, he should give up not replying to fan mail, it's just too much........... Lucious.

What a great sense of humor. He's such a great villian. I really enjoy hating him as Lucius Malfoy - and I hope the movie folks are smart enough to cast him again. He's one of the few castings I think is truly on character. (They lost it with Malfoy last time when they let his hair go.)
