Jason Isaacs, who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is becoming more like his character he says. In an effort to remain in character he avoids answering his fan mail, he also comments that he’s enjoyed playing Lucius and that he hopes that he will be in the next movie and that author Rowling continues to write Harry Potter books for years to come.
I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope. Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ... I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame.

This guy is great, he plays an awesome Lucius Malfoy and a great evil person, has no one seen the Patriot? I guess not, it's R and I think it came out a while ago. I wouldn't rcommend it for children, though, with that part when the cannonball hits that guy on his head and it goes flying... my stepbrother loved that part, he kept on playing it and rewinding it...

I think it is great that Jason wants to stay in character and that he wants people to dislike him while in character. I think however that if fans are writing mail it would be nice to acknowledge them and their feedback!

It is great the Jason Isaacs wants to stay in character. I feel sorry for his fans but if you think about it, Lucius wouldn't answer fan mail either. I had a thought, if he wants Harry to be 65 and in a walking frame, does that mean that "Lucius" is admitting that Harry will defeat Voldemort and Harry will live. We all know that has to happen by the end of book 7!

I know that he portrays a horrible character and all, but it's a bit rude that he doesn't even try to respond to fan mail when people take the time to write to him. On another note, I totally agree with him about JK to continue writing til Harry's old!! :P
