Jason Isaacs, who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is becoming more like his character he says. In an effort to remain in character he avoids answering his fan mail, he also comments that he’s enjoyed playing Lucius and that he hopes that he will be in the next movie and that author Rowling continues to write Harry Potter books for years to come.
I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope. Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ... I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame.

it must be so cool acting in a Harry Potter film.I don't quiet understand why he isn't answering his fan mail. I wish J K Rowling would continue to write the Harry Potter book but we know she is only writing 7 books to bad though.

Haha, that's funny. I don't think I can hate him, though. So it wouldn't work on me. But I do hate his characters, mean ones he's played. But I'm sure he's only joking, trying to get himself into the character. Which I hope includes Mr. Malfoy in OotP.

I could never despise some one as gorgeous as Jason Isaacs! Even if he does play the #1 supporter of the badest evil the magical world has ever seen. I still think he is very attractive even if he does think he is to good to answer his fan mail.

He and his agent should at least send the fans a form letter such as Dan Radcliffe does.

I sincerly hope that he is in the fifth movie because it would be very strange to have a different lucius malfoy. Him and draco work perfectly together! :) So good luck on getting the next pert because everybody wants you! (even thought you don't answer your fan mail! :P

IMO Jason Isaacs is so perfect for Lucious, exactly as I pictured him from the books when he's dressed as a wizard in CoS. I hope they don't change him at all (appearance/personality-wise) in OotP like they've done to the other actors/characters for movies 3/4. And with that killer smile (pictured above), he can almost get away with murder in any of his roles.

Hmm, I don't know. I mean; I love Lucius. But I'm definatly a lot less happy about Jason; not answering fanmail and blaming it on Lucius, that seems kind of pathetic!
I'm still hoping he'll be in the upcoming movies though ;)

It doesn't matter what he does I could never despise him. He is so great and a wonder actor, (cute to), I've seen him in many parts. I'm sure they will use him in the next movie, I can't see anyone else playing Lucious Malfoy, he IS the part and the fact that he enjoys doing it and sees it as great fun, well, it might mean that he is really just a kid at heart, so how can we despise him.

Awesome that he is staying in character. But, once he is no longer in HP movies I think he should start answering some of his fanmail because he has to remember that he is not really Malfoy and people are writing him mail anyway, not Malfoy.

It seems to me this guy has a problem differentiating from the charecter and himself. Especially since he's poking fun at little kids spending their money to send him letters. What a jerk!

I could never despise him even though I was shocked with his performance in The Patriot, his Harry Potter ones aren't quite as scary or strong but I guess it's because they are supposed to be kids movies.
