Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

'GoF' screening scheduled for Chicago this Saturday Popular (14440)

Source: Bad Taste via Veritaserum

According to a report on Bad Taste, the first screeningopens in new window of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is scheduled to take place in Chicago, IL this Saturday (July 9th). It may be possible for the general public to get tickets to the event & I suggest (if you can) you place a few calls to the local AMC theaters to see if that is possible.

Babel Fish translation of the article:

The post-production is still in course, in particular as far as the special effects, and the assembly will not be that definitive one... But some watching lucky people will be able to assist to one special projection of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this Saturday, that is between 48 hours.

The test screening is a practical one accustoms them of the production houses, than they use it as a system in order "sondare the land" and to assess that the public appreciates the relative choices to the scenario, the recitazione and the assembly of the film. The spectators receive a module to compile with their impressions, and before the projection a responsible of the production house perceives that the film still is not completed, and that not there will be definitive the sonorous column neither the special effects. Insomma, one "crude" version of the film, a work in progress sure still imperfect, but perhaps just for this still more moving! And for we, than we are not therefore fortunate from being able to assist to the projection?

It is expectable that in the immediately successive hours to the screening some book reviews appear on Internet, probably rich of spoiler! We of Bad Taste will hold to you we inform to you...

We have asked for confirmation on this story but I'm not sure if we will hear anything, secrecy and all that. If you have a chance to see the movie please let us know and if we see any reports of the screening online we will be sure to bring them to you.

I live like 40 minutes from chicago!!!!! Finally something happens in Illinois! I doubt I'll go there though, I'd rather see the final version (and plus when it comes out I get to skip school to finish it, my parents only let me skip school once a year and I always pick Harry Potter days)

Sure, it'd be great to watch the movie months before everybody else, but without special effects? I mean Harry's world is so magical that every aspect involves special effects so it would seem fairly foolish. I think I'll wait until it's finished. Thanks. . .

Maybe someone could sneak in a video phone in there and get some pictures. It happened with Star Wars and that was huge. I remember when a video appeared on the net, it was filled with so many spoilers. Lets see what happens.

This sounds kind of rare. Why would they have a private screening in Chicago when it's about 3 months left for the wide release. I thought that private screenings were made one week before the release.

It was true - the screening was Saturday 7/9 at 2Pm in the Pipers Alley Theatre here in the great city of Chicago. My kids went to go see it and now are bragging to all of their friends.

Oh and by the way, they searched pretty thoroughly and security was roaming throughout the movie to keep out cameras. It was originally scheduled for River East theatres and then we got a call at the last minute that it had been moved - maybe a ploy to fake everyone out as to where it was going to be and only let those that were being admitted know where the true location was. At the end, they were asked to fill out a lengthy survey on what they thought (favorite scenes, least favorite, favorite characters, etc.)

Man, I would love to be able to go to one of those screenings. It'd be like "I know something you don't know" to half the world, and it'd be cool to see if Goblet of Fire lives up to its prestegious book comparison. I really hope they keep in "the amazing bouncing ferret".

Haha, wonder how much the tickets were?
