Book Wholesalers, Inc., a book supplier to U.S. public libraries, has posted
a small report on their recently received shipment of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince including a tiny picture of the backside jacket.
If you're trying to stay spoiler-free, you might want to pass on this one although it's difficult to see any detail.

I have zoomed in and played with the picture here is what i can see:
* The sides of the book (were the synoposis is) has a black (dark color) cape -like fabric folded rather like the main curtin of a theater stage or a cape in a light wind. I think that it is likely a cape as the inner lining is a light grey.
* The back ground is of the picture is of silloweted (sorry I can't spell) buildings. the ones on the far left look like one of the windows is lit.
*That IS the dark mark above the heads of the three children. You can really tell if you make the image look like a photo negative.
* the only thing that is not clear is what is in front of the three children excapt that there is a big bright spot from the light. (darn it)

Thanks for giving a spoiler warning. I'm glad that I won't accidently get a glimpse into the plot. What happens if a possible spoiler reveals something huge that occurs in the middle? That would be pretty much be anti-climatic.

I don't think that this is really a spoiler because you can't really see anything.
So I guess that the book jackets are going to be plastic coated or something? It is so shiny that it is hard to see anything because of the glare off of the plastic.
