Frances de la Tour
, Mme. Maxime in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire recently spoke about the movie while on the set of The History Boys in England.
She discusses her romance, the difficulty working with green screen, her hopes of returning to the series and the difference working on a big budget movie.
Frances on romance:
She's a French giantess - or half giantess, so of course when she meets Hagrid, they are both half giants, so there's a frisson. There's a lot of romance (in the film). They fall in love, and then, it's really lovely. Hagrid is... again you see a tenderness in him... it's lovely, really lovely to do.

So far pictures of her are a little deceiving. I wish they would show her more in relation to others to show how large she really is. She is a little thinner than I expected however.

It will be interesting to see the difference in height between Hagrid and Maxime. I hope that the picture they are showing of Maxime isn't her best. If so Hagrid is definitely the best looking of the couple. :)

The romance bit with Hagrid in the film could be really, really good or really, really bad, I'm thinking. I hope they don't play it too precious and sappy, though, of course, Hagrid deserves his chance at happiness!

I'm beginning to think maybe the got the look of some of the characters completely wrong. Definately not the Madame Maxime I envisioned. But who knows I could be wrong and be in the minority on this. I wonder what the flying carriage will look like.

Well i like how they are portraying MM and i agree i thought she might be wider but.... she is HALF giantess she could have gotten more of the muggle appearance and the giant height. that may be why she gets so upset when hagrid calls her a half-giantess because she wants to believe she is just really tall.
