Music composer Patrick Doyle
, who is currently working on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comments on being lucky to be chosen to score the movie, the amount of work it has been, his favorite scores and his battle with leukemia.
Doyle on working on the score:
You have to be at the top of your game all the time to keep on top of it. I read the script before they started shooting. My involvement has gone on for a year, and I've written zillions of themes for it. People who have read the book will know that it is very dense in terms of its storyline, and all of the imagery is very big.
Doyle has previously worked with director Mike Newell
on Donnie Brasco and Into the West and will start work on Eragon next year.

I hope that Patrick Doyle will keep the Harry Potter Theme. I get excited, at the beginning of each film, when the simple chimey theme begins to play. It would be like seeing star wars without the fanfare and the scrolling preface. Please keep it Doyle.

I wonder if the music we heard in the international trailer has a bit of Doyle's influence. It's kind of neat. I like it and think it's promising.

I'm not very familiar with most of Patrick Doyle's work (with the exception being "A Little Princess" which I absolutely loved), but I'm sure he will do an excellent job. I can't wait to hear his score.

Hmmm. I liked John Williams, the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack is my fave, I bought it! I hope Patrick Doyle keeps Hedwig's Theme, though. It'll be nice to have a change, but I'm worried...if the music is too different, the feel of the film won't be the same...!

I'm sure this guy is a wonderful composer, or they would not have chosen him. There are many, many film composers.
I wonder if he will keep a few of John Williams' main themes...since you hear some of them in all of the movies, such as Hedwig's theme?

John Williams leaving was a blow, but Patrick Doyle sounds more than capable of being able to pull off the feat of composing the music for GoF. He seems really to have an understanding of the complexity of GoF. I'm sorry about his leukemia, though, and wish him the best.
