While Christopher Paolini's second novel, Eldest
, may have knocked Harry Potter down a notch on Amazon.com's bestseller list
, Scholastic is ramping up to offer a boxed set of all six Potter books to date.
A new image of the set is available at Amazon:
It will cost about $100 and include hardcover editions packaged in an artwork-covered case. Amazon says it will be available October 1, as we reported in June.
Thanks to HarryLatino.com
for the tip.

I would buy it but i already have all of the books released and it would be a waste to get a whole new set. Even if i did i would wait till all seven were out.

Yea, I agree with everyboby, we should wait till all seven books come out, but it looks great all the same. I can't believe Eldest is doing better than Harry Potter!!! Has anyone read it?? I saw the author on tv and he read some of it, but I didnt think much of it.

I think I'll just buy it after the 7th book. It would be really stupid to buy a lot of them at once you know. And besides it would be some time before the next one comes out any ways.

I don't think there's any point buying the boxed set now, why not just wait until all 7 come out? How many people are realistically going to buy the incomplete set, when we're so close to it being completed? I don't have the money to spare anyway!

I'll buy a collector when all the books are released, I don't see the point of this one, nor of any collector set without all books. It seems like some more trading, unfortunately. I'd fancy a collector set from the Bloomsbury adult edition.

Really cool=) But yeah, I think I'll wait for the seventh book too...By the time the seventh book is released, I would have to buy a new set anyway, there wouldn't be anything left of the old ones:P

It's a nice set and everything but I wouldn't buy it seen as I already have the other books. I know they look nice but I wouldn't buy them just to look at. If I was going to though, I'd wait for the last book to come out and get the set.

Wow, it has been so long since I have been on this site!! I was out of the country for a month and I haven't had much time since I've been back, it's very strange to be back here and see everything so different! I love the new home page, it's awesome! I love box sets, problem is I have been buying each of the books as they come out because I can't stand not to have them. I buy all of them in hard cover anyway, so it will end up being just like a box set without the shell. I don't understand why they come out with box sets before a series is finished, because then you have to go buy the last book, or however many are left, and they are just sitting there like unloved puppies. They did the same thing with Lord of the Rings. I always just wait for the final book to come out then go get the box set.

It seems a bit odd to offer a boxed set when it's not a complete set. I think I'll wait, like many others will, for the last book to come out. On the other hand, in 50 years time, boxed sets of the first 5 or the first 6 books will probably be quite rare and quite valuable. Might be a good investment...

Wouldn't I love to have that hardcover set! Hard to justify more copies of the books, though. Great for someone just getting into them.
