While Christopher Paolini's second novel, Eldest
, may have knocked Harry Potter down a notch on Amazon.com's bestseller list
, Scholastic is ramping up to offer a boxed set of all six Potter books to date.
A new image of the set is available at Amazon:
It will cost about $100 and include hardcover editions packaged in an artwork-covered case. Amazon says it will be available October 1, as we reported in June.
Thanks to HarryLatino.com
for the tip.

$100 for 6 hardback books is good value for money I think? Not being American I have no idea how much a book costs over there.
I think they will produce a British version.

It's a very nice set, but I think I'll wait until book seven is out, like everyone else. Otherwise, I'd have 1-6 in a set, and number 7 all by its lonesome.

Man, I really want that. But not only do I already have all the books, it would probably be more sensible to at least wait until the seventh book comes out and I can have the entire series all boxed up. Looks awesome!

No ofense guys but that Paolini guy seems to be a fraud, it sounds very miuch like LOTR. Sorry for all the fans out there, just my opinion....I really haven´t read his books yet, so I may not judge him that harsh.
$100 for 6 HP books sounds OK ´cause each book in hardpaper edition costs around $30, so if you multiply that six times it´d be $180!!!.....so it seems fairly priced but I prefer to wait though!

That's a shame.
I'm glad to know that it is finally out though.
*Cowers* before you throw hexes at me, let me tell you, if I had the choice of reading with Harry Potter, or Eragon, then I would choose Harry Potter anyday of the week. If you like Lord of the Rings, then you will love Eragon.

Yeah, I think I'll wait until all 7 books are out to buy the collectors set. $100 is pretty cheap for 6 hardcover books.

It is a bit ridiculous to buy a boxed set when the entire series isn't finished. I think I will wait.

I agree on waiting for book 7 before I get the whole set. I actually prefer the paperback books anyway. Sometimes hardcover books get so heavy when you sit and read for hours... which is what HP books require!!

i can't wait till book 7 to buy a complete set. I have read books 1-5 so many times that they are falling apart, so a new set might be a good idea.

I don't see the point in buying the set now for $100 but then spending like $150 on the set with book 7 in it! Ive gotten my mom to promise me no matter how much the set will cost, she'll buy it for me! But I do guess there's some people out there even more crazy about HP then I am (actually therea a LOT more) that cant wait & will blow their money now.

Well, like most people have already said, we might as well wait until the last book comes out, but $100 is a really nice price for 6 HP books. When the last book comes out, I'm going to buy that one, and then when the 7 book set comes out(which'll probably be shortly after the release of the last book) I'm going to get it, and then I want to get all 7 of the British books in a set too. I feel weird for wanting to buy some of the books over again, and in different editions, but I'm reeeeeeally obsessed.

Why don't they wait until the 7th book is released? It kind of seems like a waste to me to buy them now.
