While Christopher Paolini's second novel, Eldest
, may have knocked Harry Potter down a notch on Amazon.com's bestseller list
, Scholastic is ramping up to offer a boxed set of all six Potter books to date.
A new image of the set is available at Amazon:
It will cost about $100 and include hardcover editions packaged in an artwork-covered case. Amazon says it will be available October 1, as we reported in June.
Thanks to HarryLatino.com
for the tip.

I agree with some of the previous posters here, I'd rather wait for the complete 7-book set.
Only problem is, I'll probably have hardbound copies of books 6 and 7 (got into HP late, just borrowed the earlier books)... maybe I could sell them. Hmmm.

Looks ok, would rather wait for the final edition to come before purchasing the box set.

I was sad to see HBP drop down out of the lead spot, but....Eldest was a good read. I think I will also wait, like most of you, until the 7th book has come out and then have the whole Collector's Edition set that they most likely will have. Til then...I wait.

I just bought all 6 hard cover books from E-bay. I am glad i did it this way it was cheaper than buying them in a set with a case.

I plan on waiting until I can get all seven. I might have gotten this if I didn't have any already.

The Harry Potter hardcover boxed set does look very nice. I would rather wait until after Book 7 comes out. All 7 Harry Potter books would than be contained in the box set.

I wonder why they bother making these packs they should just wait for all the books to come out? I guess all they wanted to do is make more money.

I wish i could buy taht but since i live in Canada i couldn't get it unless i ordered it and the shipping fee must be expansive. but on top of that my sis already has the bloomsbury editions, so my mother of course would never let me buy anohter set just because i want the american version!

I have the bloomsbury ones up till No5 in paperback & No6 in hardback. I think the paperback are better, The hardback can't be taken in the bath or folded around the spine for easier reading. Having said that if someone were to present me with colllecters edition of all seven in hardback, I wouldn't say no especially if they were 1st editions rumoured to worth £150,000 when No7 is released.

I'm going to buy a Collector's Box Set, but I think I'm going to wait until Book 7 comes out. I already have the Bloomsbury Editions, so I think I'll buy a Schoolastic Box Set.

They will sell, but I really think most people will wait until all 7 are in a boxed set.
However it would be nice to get a different version than I've already got.

What would be the point of buying a set of 6 now? Any HP fan already owns 1-6. In addition, any non-fan of HP isn't going to drop $100 for books they don't want. Miracuously, I am sure that the 6-volume set will sell tons. ...dumb people...
