While Christopher Paolini's second novel, Eldest
, may have knocked Harry Potter down a notch on Amazon.com's bestseller list
, Scholastic is ramping up to offer a boxed set of all six Potter books to date.
A new image of the set is available at Amazon:
It will cost about $100 and include hardcover editions packaged in an artwork-covered case. Amazon says it will be available October 1, as we reported in June.
Thanks to HarryLatino.com
for the tip.

Hi well even though this set is amazing I would rather buy Christopher Paolinis second book Eldest, (please don´t Kill me) becuase i´ve alredy got the books. I love Harry Potter more than Eragon but it is an extremely good book nevertheless. I hope i dont get expelled after this.

I just don't get the point of buying a boxset when the last book is going to come out soon and you can get all 7 books.

If there isn't something special about them, why buy one if you have the books already? Don't they just stick a box around them and that's about it?
I won't buy a box set unless they are leatherbound.
But I do buy the paperbacks because it's easier to read them in bed...not as much weight to hold up when I'm tired.

I really need to replace my books. All of the hardback editions (except for HBP, I treated that one like it was made of glass) are really worn from use, and my brother's dog chewed half the cover off of OotP (I still haven't forgiven either of them for that). I think I'm going to wait until all 7 come out before I get the boxed set, though.

As with almost everyone else here I would rather wait to buy them, but I would need the second book the night it comes out, so by then I will have all of them extra.
But JKR said that she hopes to revise all of the books after she is done with the seventh, so ultimately I will wait for those.

I wold get that, but I already got the bks 1-4 boxed set, and have a second paperback copy of CoS and SS, a paperback and hardcover OotP, and hardcover HBP. If I ever need another copy, I'll get that (just becase it's so awesome!!), but for now I'm good. I can't believe "Eldest" knocked HP down! (Although both my friend and I reserved copies...)

I'm going to definitely wait for the 7-book edition. I'm going to keep that inside the box and save it for my kids to read. And I'll most likely buy the adult 7-book box edition as well!

When the seventh book comes out, I will definitely be ordering these in the British edition. I think they have such nice artwork in them! The price is a little high, but at least I'll be able to keep copies of the books as memorablilia.

I think i will wait another 3 years before I buy them. It will be enormously expensive, but it would be worth it to buy all 7 together. And by then they might even put those other books that she has written in with them making it more of a deluxe deal.

I will probaly buy a set when they all come out since the books belong to my family and not be myself. But I would actually rather have the orignal copy that I read first ( it means more) But I'm going to want to had my own copy since I'm not going to be living at home forever.
