Steve Jobs announced
today at an Apple press event in San Francisco that JK Rowling has signed an exclusive deal to make all six and the to-be-released final Harry Potter audiobooks available for purchase and download on iTunes, effective immediately.
Additionally, a special edition Harry Potter iPod will be made available featuring the Hogwarts school crest, designed by the author. Read all about it and see pictures of the new iPod at Apple's web site.
The news coincided with the release of iTunes 5.0 and an announcement that Madonna has given Apple permission to sell all of her music on the download service.

UPDATE: In less than 24 hours, the Harry Potter audiobooks have soared to the top of iTunes' charts. At the time of this writing, they have taken seven of the top 25 "most downloaded" spots, including #1, #3, #4 and #5.

Ugh.. I don't like itunes at all. They are evil, evil I say. I just dont like the format that the sound files come in. It's great becuase hopefully it will lower piracy (hey why am i saying that im a pirate :-P). But still ipods and the like are evil.

This is really great news!!!! I've always wanted to buy the 6 audio books. I just don't have enough money yet to buy all of them. They're just too expensive for me, heheh...Uhh, I don't have an iPod, either. I'm not just interested in them at all, hehehe....So, I'm just stickiing to the books and the news websites right now.
