Last month we reported
that Warner Bros. had promised to fix an error that appeared in a released photo from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The photo in question showed Harry standing in front of the Riddle’s headstone at the end of the film but with a glaring error in the name and date of the deceased.
Moviefone
has published a new picture of the same scene with the correction made.

OK another mistake I know they fixed the tomb stone now but Harry is RIGHT HANDED not left handed. If you remember in the first book when he was in Olivanders wand shop Olivander asked him
"Which arm is your wand arm?"said Olivander
"Well Im right handed" said Harry
MISTAKE THEY NEED TO FIX AGAIN

Thats great. Its good to fix errors before the movie releases. I hate when something mentioned in the book is not rightly incorporated in the movie.

I've spent today looking at mistakes from the film, e.g. Priori Incantatem book = gold/film = red, also, when talking in the fire, the head should be floating in the flames, not lying in the ashes. But I've never seen the first photo, so good for some other HP fans who noticed it!

Phoenix_721 they actually didn't move him. The moved the names and dates up so it looks like they moved him. The had to take "Marvolo" out so naturally "Riddle" had to be moved up and so did the years.
And I_Support_DeathEaters, the middle name was taken out, and the first year now says 1910 instead of 1915 in the old one.
And people are right it does look lighter in the picture but maybe that's just because of the quality. ::shrugs::

Woops I mistyped it should be:
"And I_Support_DeathEaters, the middle name was taken out, and the first year now says *1905* instead of 1915 in the old one."

I'm glad they'vechanged, it is a really big mistake... even if I wouldn't have noticed it... at least until I've watched the movie 3-4 times...

I can't tell any difference whatsoever, the dates read the same to me. But the thing that I don't get is who is the middle name? Is it his mother or something, -ry Riddle?

I would have probably noticed it anyway in the film, because I am annoying like that :P Glad they changed it back though - I can see the mayhem now, if they had left it to how it was :)

I can't see how they got it wrong, surely for dates and names on head stones they would ask JK, anywho, its fixed so yay, can't wait for the film.

I knew that wouldn't be hard to fix, and I glad they did. I mean, its not something that really mattered, but I am glad that they fixed it anyways! I prefer accuracy in all things (why not round boats, oh LoTR, I wanted to see those round boats!)

Hiya!
Yay!!!!! They did it! They corrected that stupid mistake which we, as the best informed Harry Potter readers, would have noticed once we saw that stupid headstone!!!
There is also a big mistake in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - the film.
In on scene, Lupin tells Harry, that the Marauder's Map, in the hands of Sirius Black would lead him directl to Harry. Fine, but - how does Remus John Lupin know, that that piece of paper in his hands is the f**kin' Marauder's Map??!!?!?!
I was just wondering about that. I even dreamt, I've been at the set and told them about their mistake. Stupid, I know. But that's another thing.
The main thing is: They corrected their mistake. GOOD WORK!!! ;D
So long, Y:h.

Honestly, I don't think anyone will really notice because they would be watching the movie not the details. I really didn't see any difference between new and old headstones, only the name, marvolo..

I'm so glad they fixed this. It would have been a HUGE mistake to leave it the way it was! Those of us who have read the books know who is really burried there, but think of those who haven't. It would've been major confusion.
