, Imelda Staunton has been cast for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie. The Academy Award-nominated actress is reportedly going to portray Dolores Umbridge, a new professor sent to spy on Professor Dumbledore and to control Hogwarts school.
However, no official word has been released by Warner Brothers.

Well, Contact Music is (in)famously notorious for launching unverified rumors like this so I wouldn't make much of it just yet. Hadn't thought of Imelda Staunton for Umbridge but she would make an interesting choice, based on my admittedly limited exposure to her I do think she could pull it off.

She looks to nice to play Umbridge, but then again Ralph Fiennes looks to sweet to play Voldemort. I guess that makeup does do wonders and acting plays a huge part. I hope that she pulls it off.

That's where I saw her, she did work with Dan in David Copperfield and also wasn't she was in Sense and Sensibility with none other than Alan Rickman? And she will be in Nanny McPhee. But, this is only a rumor. We will no doubt have lots of rumors going around before we get confirmation on all the actors.
