, Imelda Staunton has been cast for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie. The Academy Award-nominated actress is reportedly going to portray Dolores Umbridge, a new professor sent to spy on Professor Dumbledore and to control Hogwarts school.
However, no official word has been released by Warner Brothers.

I think the hair and makeup people will do a great job of turning her into the toad. But what movies has she been in? I don't recognize even her name, let alone her face! But if WB picks her, she is good, no doubt.

I don't recognize her. I'm surprised they didn't snag someone more well known, considering the other guest stars they have had for one movie.
They can do lots with makeup nowadays so I don't think her publicity shot look is really all that important.

This is fantastic! Imelda Staunton is a fantastic actress, however she doesn't quite look like what I envisioned Umbridge to look like, I'm sure though that the talented make-up artists will indeed work their magic on her.

Well, whoever gets this role will have a tough character I think to portray. Umbridge is a very cruel woman and I don't like her character at all. But it'll be interesting to see how she will be portrayed.
