, Imelda Staunton has been cast for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie. The Academy Award-nominated actress is reportedly going to portray Dolores Umbridge, a new professor sent to spy on Professor Dumbledore and to control Hogwarts school.
However, no official word has been released by Warner Brothers.

I think she'd make a brilliant Umbridge. I can totally picture with iron colored curls with a pink bow perched on top of her head like a juicy fly. Don't forget those horrible pink cardigans. Can't wait to see if the rumors are true.

All she has to do is whimper and be nasty and any one could be the role - except they should look like a toad when they have a bow in their hair.
I actually have an ex teacher of mine that would fit the role perfectly.

Well, she doesn't exactly seem the "Umbridge Type" in the other pictures I've seen of her, but with some makeup and prosthetics (or moderate weight gain)she could pull it off. I read that she won "Best Actress" in the European Film Awards last year. If she does half as well as Emma Thompson (Trelawney), then she'll be extremely awesome.

She is a little how I imagined. Although, I pictured her kinda big and more of a flat head but I'm sure makeup and stuff can take care of that. All in all, She doesn't look too bad for the part.

I think she'd need to gain weight for the role. She's nowhere near as dumpy as I pictured Umbridge in the book. Then again, not that many of the film actors look that much like their characters are described, so as long as she's sickening enough...

Well she would look more the part if she were to tie back her hair and make it tight into a bun, but I doubt they will find anyone anywhere who looks like a toad like Dolores does in the book he he and if they did then I salute them for finding someone - for it would have been a hard task he he But they found someone to portray Moody, so Im sure thay will find someone for Dolores too
