According to an extremely reliable source, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will have a running time of 157 minutes, making it the second longest film in the series of Warner Bros. adaptations of JK Rowling's books. The second movie, at 161 minutes, is the longest.
We're awaiting confirmation from Warner Bros.
UPDATE: WB cannot confirm the running time at present, but The Leaky Cauldron is also reporting
they've received tips that the film will be 160 minutes.
UPDATE #2: According to another tipster, the film is "2 hours 34 minutes and 38 seconds or 154 minutes and 38 secs... from the first glimpse of the movie until the last frame (WB logo)." Presumably, that figure is based on an advanced cut of the movie.

I don't know if I like it that short. I mean, I know it can't be seven hours long like some people want it, but I'd have liked it to at least be the longest so far, GoF being the longest book. Three hours would have been about a good time.

I just don't want it to end! Of course it has to be long - look at all the material that needs to be covered. There is heaps more than the other books, and even then, they have cut things out! I don't mind being lost in the Harry Potter world for over 2 hours (smiles)

It should be a long movie because there is a lot of stuff in the 4th book, and they have to get all important stuff in it.

160 minutes is wayyyyy too short. This book is much longer and more important than COS so it needs to be much longer. GGRRRRRR

I'm glad it should be that long! 2 and a half hours ... that is awesome. They should be able to cram in as much as possible!
Wow, wonder who the "reliable sources" are? I suppose it doesn't matter since it seems like things are up in the air right now.
Oh well, 35 days!

Oooh, this is soo cool, the second longest HP film!! Don't know why, but I was worried and thinking it was gonna be the shortest or something! And as somebody back on the first page mentioned, the DVD is gonna be great, we'll get to see any deleted scenes there are! And the making-of stuff! But for now, I just want the film! Only 34 days...

Nooo...
I don't want them to cut ANYTHING from the movie. I'm sure that we can all stand an extra ten, twenty - THIRTY minutes, even. As I always say, the more Harry Potter, the better. I hope they don't leave out too much, even though we'll more than likely get to see the deleted scenes when the DVD comes out.

They could re-cut the movie yet. So I wouldn't get too set on this number!
Personally, for such a long book I was hoping for a little longer movie. After all, COS was less than half the length of the GOF book.
