According to an extremely reliable source, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will have a running time of 157 minutes, making it the second longest film in the series of Warner Bros. adaptations of JK Rowling's books. The second movie, at 161 minutes, is the longest.
We're awaiting confirmation from Warner Bros.
UPDATE: WB cannot confirm the running time at present, but The Leaky Cauldron is also reporting
they've received tips that the film will be 160 minutes.
UPDATE #2: According to another tipster, the film is "2 hours 34 minutes and 38 seconds or 154 minutes and 38 secs... from the first glimpse of the movie until the last frame (WB logo)." Presumably, that figure is based on an advanced cut of the movie.

Good. I think that it needs to be that long. Especially if they are adding in stuff like the dancing lessons. They are going to need that extra time to cover everything that is necessary. =)

Hundred and fifty seven minutes....and I will still want more when it is over...but I agree, I don't think it would be a very good movie if it was going to be under 2 hours. 38 more days. I will be there

That is awesome, even though I thought they would have made this movie the longest because all that goes on in the book. I do hope OOTP is longer.

I love the fact that this is a longer movie. It should be the longest of the series so far because the it is the longest of the four books that have been made into movies!

I'm glad it's not a short movie. I wish that it was longer. Don't they realise that people would sit thru a long HP movie. It's a great series of books. I just hope the movies follow the books. I know that they can't put everything in the movie. I just hope it's better that PoA. The LOTR movies was really long. I loved those movies.

Despite many fans saying that they are upset to hear the film will not last longer than the Chamber of Secrets, I personally am delighted that the film goes to an extent longer than I anticipated. The amount of time the film lasts -- slightly over two and a half hours -- should provide enough space to accomodate all the key points in the novels. I have high hopes for the quality of this adaptation. It may not conform to the book word-for-word, but from what I have seen and heard so far it seems it captures the spirit and purpose of the novel completely.

It's still too short for my taste. But, What's a guy gonna do ? I for one, haven't read GOF for about a year; I figure that the less I remember from the book, the better are my chances of enjoying the movie without thinking "oh, they left this or that out! "

The longer, the better! It makes sense though, the longer the books become, they have to follow it with the movie time!
