Harry Potter author JK Rowling was a winner
last night at the first annual Quills Awards. Rowling won for 'Book of the Year' and 'Best Children's Chapter Book' for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Rowling accepted her award via video and said:
You've made a sleep-deprived mother very happy.
The awards show will be airing on some NBC networks on October 22nd.

Half-Blood Prince was an amazing book, I still say Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite but JKR completely deserves this award, she is such a good author and once again she did a brilliant job with HBP!

She deserves the award. She is an amazing writer. As for HBP, the book still gives me nightmares. Why couldn't she just put Ron and Hermione together in this book, not Ron and lavender? I guess she was just building up their romance. In the next book, their budding romance will come out in full force.

I was aware of this contest, but I didn't vote.
(in case you didn't know, the votes were done on line)
I didn't vote because she was nominated in the children's category, and I am not sure that was the right category for HBP. I don't think the books should be relegated to that category.
