A little over two weeks ago we told you
that it was being reported that Imelda Staunton had been cast as Prof. Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, we are now getting reports that she has confirmed this on British TV show This Morning on ITV.
According to our tip:
Imelda Staunton was interviewed on ITV's This Morning talking about her current role in Nanny McPhee but also confirmed her upcoming role as Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She said that she would be starting filming next year, and is unsure how her 11-year-old daughter will feel about her playing Professor Umbridge; she is looking forward to playing a nasty character! She even gave us an inkling of the voice she may use while playing the part!
We are still waiting to receive official word from Warner Bros., but as soon as we do we will let you know.

I think she needs to be plumper...I always pictured her fatter in the book. She looks ggood other than that for the part. I hope she can be as mean as she was in the book.

I hope she sincerely enjoys to part. I have read that actors like to play the "bad guy" because you get to do and say things they usually do not get to.

Well...Not what I expected. I expected someone more umbridge like, someone who looks like a frog, and weighs more. There is one actress I saw on TV but I can't remember the name, she looks like the perfect umbridge.

Hmm... She doesn't look likemuch of an Umbrige in that Photo, but with hair and makeup, you'd be amazed how different she looks. I just only hope that the director's vision is more accurate. I think the illustrator for the US HP books (I think her name is something like Madame Prixe) really gets the characters right. If only casters went by that.

It is a little early. I think she will make a good Umbridge though. I wonder when they are going to start filming. She does look a little to sweet to be Umbridge though, perhaps when I see her in action I will think differently.
