The music is good (I have soundtracks by both Doyle and Williams) but I know if Williams had done the soundtrack it would have been brilliant.

Sorry, but I have to say this....This soundtrack is the absolute best of the Harry Potter series so far! Also, and many of you may know this, but if Johnny had done this score it would be completely different.
I said this with a friend while discussing the score and that is that while listening to the score, you know that you yourself would never have composed it like it was or done it this way especially you other fans out there simply because most of you just adore "Hedwig's Theme", yet you realize it's done in the best possible way. Every single track is absolutely brilliant and I hate to say this because I adore John Williams as a composer, but Patrick Doyle has out done him. The simplicity of the music is what got me. I love it when a score is effective and simple and the only Potter score that came close to that mark was POA and yet it wasn't perfect. With GOF, all the tracks had a beauty to it that mirrored the books. Because of the growing up romantic feel to it I feel that tracks like "Harry Potter's Love" and the Waltzes were wonderful additions.
I know that I'm not gaining fans with this post (not that anyone liked me or what I had to say to begin with), but I just felt like I needed to say that finally "Hedwig's Theme" is defeated and we're moving into a new territory that more fits the adult feel of the books.
Though I said the entire score is amazing, which it by far is, if you listen to every track (this is not for everyone mainly I guess myself only this works for) from "Voldemort" on you really are positive that it's finally working.
I personally am kind of now worried about Johnny's return and I do wish that Pat could stay or would stay. I adore this score almost as much as Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings and Craig Armstrong's Love Actually and Jan Kaczmarek's Finding Neverland.
Now please, berate me oh Harry Potter purists who disagree. I know your dying to scream in my face at how stupid I am.

Oh my goodness! They posted the entire track?? I hope it's as good as the previous ones. I'm not sure about the songs composed by Cocker (or whatever his name is) though. The song 'This is the night' was kinda weird, I didn't like it that much.

Oh man I think its brilliant!! The dissonance is beautiful, and the incorporation of familiar themes into a darker, more full orchestration is amazing. John Williams is probably proud his "baby" wasn't butchered.

I am so excited to listen to it! I love the Harry Potter music. Imagine the theme music to a movie that anyone would know even if you went up to a stranger in a mall and sang it to them... they would know it's from Harry Potter! It's amazing!

Incredible. John Williams brings in the sights and the sounds, but Doyle finally brought in the EMOTION. A much more mature, and frankly, better constructed score than the last installments. Fresh blood is just what the musical composition needed, and Doyle comes in on his very best game.

That's awesome they put the whole files online instead of only previews. I had a listen at Voldemort, The Dark Mark, The Story Continues, Potter Waltz, and the famed Do the Hippogriff. Sounds good so far, will listen to the rest later.
