Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has a running time of 156 minutes and 54 seconds, according to the British Board of Film Classification
. That's a mere six seconds shy of what we reported earlier this month based on a reliable source (who apparently rounded up).
Veritaserum reports
that the final 13 minutes, which contain the film's credits, are worth sitting through to get some extra laughs.
This length makes it the second longest Potter film after Chamber of Secrets, which clocked in at 161 minutes, even though the book is twice as long.
The BBFC recently rated Goblet of Fire 12A, meaning no one under 12 years old may see the movie without an accompanying adult. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rated the film PG-13 in the U.S. which places kids under 13 under the same restriction.

I am so excited! And thankful for the tip to stay for the credits. I always want to stay, but my husband wants to bolt so now I have some leverage since I know there's something to see!

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! This is awesome! But why is this film shorter when the book was considerably longer? Please tell me that it'll at least stay true to the book and not mess up like POA! *prays* I hope that what was cut out isn't going to make me upset like last time... *dramatically falls to knees* PLEASE! November 18th! COME QUICKLY!

I really thought that it would be longer. Of all the books this one is the one that seems to scream movie to me. I hope that this time doesn't mean that they did a sweeping cut job.

I guess 156 minutes is okay, though I would have loved to see GOF as long as LOTR! Or just 200 minutes!
Oh well, 156 is also very much!

I still can't see how this film could be shorter than the Chamber of Secrets, but then I guess because the book was shorter, they were able to fit in more and more detail. I guess this just means that there are some things in the Goblet of Fire that are going to be cut out or made less significant. Anyhow, can't wait to see it!!!

I thought it would be longer than that... We usually do sit through the credits, but I would rather that be included on the DVD and have more of the film to enjoy. But, that's just me...

I wouldn't expect less from the ratings.
The chamber of secrets just included a lot of stuff that couldn't just be looked over. And there's also the fact the JKR explain the places and people over and over again in the books when we first read about them just to remind us, so I wouldn't expect the mvoie to be just like the books and be longer than the one before it, always.
Anyway... I can't wait for the movie, it's going to be amazing.

That's going to be a long movie however, not long enough. I must say though, that I am so going to sit through the credits just for whatever they have planned. (I hope it's bloopers!)
