Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has a running time of 156 minutes and 54 seconds, according to the British Board of Film Classification
. That's a mere six seconds shy of what we reported earlier this month based on a reliable source (who apparently rounded up).
Veritaserum reports
that the final 13 minutes, which contain the film's credits, are worth sitting through to get some extra laughs.
This length makes it the second longest Potter film after Chamber of Secrets, which clocked in at 161 minutes, even though the book is twice as long.
The BBFC recently rated Goblet of Fire 12A, meaning no one under 12 years old may see the movie without an accompanying adult. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rated the film PG-13 in the U.S. which places kids under 13 under the same restriction.

I'm glad to know that this is a long film...it had to be, didn't it?! I mean...originally they considered making this two movies. Thank goodness they scrapped that idea since the tale really needs a single showing to maintain the cohesion.

I'm suprised it is shorter than Chamber of Secrets, but I realize that they can't make the movie 12 hours long to fit everything in. (Darn!) It's going to be great just the same!

The movie's shorter than I thought because if you compare the size of the first few books to the fourth one, it is much much much much longer. It's more like the size of all three of them put together.

For this reason, I think they should have made this movie longer.

Well that sounds like a good amount of time to run the movie (though ideally, it would have been nice if they made it longer). And I'm glad to have found out about the end credits (I usually end up leaving at some point during that time).

Well, I guess we knew that they would have to cut some things...but really, they could have made it 500 minutes and I would still go. I vote that next time they make it as long as it takes to tell the whole story, and just go old school with an intermission in the middle so we can all go out to the lobby and get some more Bertie Botts Beans, because those things are so much more exciting when you can't see what flavor you're eating :).

2 1/2 hours is pretty much all I want to watch at the theater. I couldn't even watch ROTK in theaters, I was afraid of anything over 3 hours.

Aww the movie is a lot shorter than I would have liked, but if we're lucky, they'll have a lot of deleted scenes when the DVD comes out. O well, can't wait for 24 for days!!!
And I really hope that the "extra laughs" is for bloopers :) I love to see actors mess up..it shows that they ARE only human ^^

I still feel that if it was forced to be one movie it should have been 3 hours of film, but alas my opinion matters not to WBs. I will be there anyway, anticipating the best.
