PowerGranger says:

Yes, Harry is heroic. He's gotten more heroic with every book. It's interesting that Voldemort was not on the list of top baddies. I think that's because he hasn't been seen on film in full form yet. From reading the books, I certianly get the feeling he's a big-time villian, but some people need to see to believe.

Sorry, I don't agree. I think there are many other charas out there cooler, and better developed. Now if you said, for children then I might agree...then again, there are better ones even in the HP series itself.

Im a big fan of Harry Potter, now whenever i think fantasy roleplaying wizard i think of the scrawny black haired kid with glasses (although i still think of the BIG G as in Gandalf from time to time). If i were ever to run another AD&D session, id definitely roleplay as a harry potter character.

I totally agree. Harry has no extraordinary powers (besides his magical talents, which lots of people have), so he has to battle Voldemort solely with his witt. Voldemort is more powerful in a way, but still Harry survives and beats him. Way to go, Harry! We all love you!

He better have beat out all those others, Harry Potter is by far the best and greatest hero of fantasy :)! Actually, he's my own personal hero, I want to be just like him. Really. I'm surprised no one from LoTR made the top list, though.

He beat out Spiderman and Batman? That's just crazy. I mean, honestly. Batman is a symbol... he pretty much can't be defeated. Plus, as much as I hate to admit it... Christian Bale just pulls off the hero thing better than Daniel Radcliffe.
