With the premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire just hours away, a few early reviews from publications in the UK have appeared online. One gives it 3 out of 5 stars in what seems more like an recap of the movie than a review, one is a more in-depth review from four kids and their aunt and the last one discusses the actors and the plot.
From The Times
:
What's fresh about the Goblet of Fire is the intriguing tension between the feeble and the strong. This has always been Rowling's tug of war. The playground duels between Harry and his peers are as bitter as ever, but there's a delicious sense of anarchy about boarding school life. For the first time we sense what makes Harry tick under pressure.
From the Guardian
:
By common consent, among my party at least, this is the best Potter on film yet and, while I'm no expert, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The wit, panache and special effects put you in mind of the best of the Bond films, while the fabulous acting from the likes of Frances de la Tour, Maggie Smith, Miranda Richardson and Robbie Coltrane put me in mind of the St. Trinian's films.
From the Telegraph
:
Fear and sadness are expertly portrayed, and no matter how much you love or hate the book you'll have a hard time not getting drawn into this movie.
UPDATE: AICN
have also posted a review of the film in which the reviewer gives it a B+, only because there is too much humor in the film.

I was disappointed with the review in the Times, I'd have expected a more helpful, analytical one than the basic run-through of the movie that was posted. At least everyone had good things to say about it!

Oh wow, I wonder how many hours it takes for people to get ready to make an appearance at a premiere - like I wonder if Emma is already getting ready etc... etc...

The wait is killing me.... though it is only 13 more days. This is going to be the best movie yet, with all the action and the quickness of the plot line I think it will also feel like the shortest of the four movies.

It would be fabulous to be able to go to the premiere, but I guess I'll just have to wait until the 18th like everyone else. It sounds great, though.

I'm not going to read those reviews (GOF is too close to get more spoilers now).
A rating of 3 stars out of 5?? I probably would have given it a full 5. :P

three out of five stars isn't that bad! But every review pretty much say the same thing...I wish they would comment more on the qualitly of the movie instead of how interesting the character tension was..
