The Bulgarian premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire took place this past weekend and Stanislav Ianevski (Krum) and director Mike Newell were on hand to discuss the movie.
Stan discussed
being a proud Bulgarian, the process of being in the movie and his desire to remain in the movie business. He also discussed meeting the stars during the first days of shooting:
At first we were introduced to the world of Harry Potter in a very special and warm way, we had two weeks of playing together in order to get to know each other. As for the first shooting day, we were, in the labyrinth and everything there is very scary, everything moves and you live it exactly the way you see it in the movie. I wanted to impress Mike and prove to him that I was really the best for the part, so naturally I was worried.
Mike Newell discussed
how many times he watched the other Potter movies, reading the books, meeting JK Rowling and the reason behind changing to music composer Patrick Doyle.
I wanted a different composer because in the film there was a tremendous amount of music that the actors had to work with, dancing music, walking music, there's lots and lots of music. So it's very difficult for me to work with a composer who is 6,000 miles away. And John Williams lives in Los Angeles, so I needed somebody who was right there. And I've worked with Pat, Patrick Doyle, who is a great composer, twice before, also on Donnie Brasco and he is a great man, to work with, he gives you a lot.
Thanks to Rhonda for the tip.

Very interesting...
I bought the soundtrack before the movie came out, and at first I really missed Jhon Williams...
But when I went to the theatre to see the film I realized how beautiful the music was!!!
Now I'm listening to it everytime!!!

Happy Bulgarian boy! He'll make a good actor.
I can relate what Newell had to say about John Williams. The music in GoF, in my opinion, is nice. But I prefer John Williams's works. That man's the best.

I hope main theme (Hedwig's) will be in all films. I love HP music, it's not like the Lord of the Rings' music. But it's very... magic.

cool. i think Stan did really good in GOF. Though personally i think Hermione goes better with Ron. Speaking of couples, i really don't think that Parvati goes with Dan. They just don't look good together.

I thought Stanislav Ianevski wasn't a very convincing Viktor but that was probably just the script. His acting was great though.

Great little interviews. I'm glad to see how enthusiastic Stan is about how important his role was and how serious he took it.
Mike Newell really impressed me with his hard work before he began to direct the movie. I didn't really like his move with John Williams, though. He was sooooo good!

It still sounds like "Harry Potter Theme" music :]
You can tell it's still related to the movie although when we were in the cinema no one knew the movie was starting cause of the music :P
Stan was a good choice for Krum, he deffineatly comes across as the book describes him, if not better!
