The Bulgarian premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire took place this past weekend and Stanislav Ianevski (Krum) and director Mike Newell were on hand to discuss the movie.
Stan discussed
being a proud Bulgarian, the process of being in the movie and his desire to remain in the movie business. He also discussed meeting the stars during the first days of shooting:
At first we were introduced to the world of Harry Potter in a very special and warm way, we had two weeks of playing together in order to get to know each other. As for the first shooting day, we were, in the labyrinth and everything there is very scary, everything moves and you live it exactly the way you see it in the movie. I wanted to impress Mike and prove to him that I was really the best for the part, so naturally I was worried.
Mike Newell discussed
how many times he watched the other Potter movies, reading the books, meeting JK Rowling and the reason behind changing to music composer Patrick Doyle.
I wanted a different composer because in the film there was a tremendous amount of music that the actors had to work with, dancing music, walking music, there's lots and lots of music. So it's very difficult for me to work with a composer who is 6,000 miles away. And John Williams lives in Los Angeles, so I needed somebody who was right there. And I've worked with Pat, Patrick Doyle, who is a great composer, twice before, also on Donnie Brasco and he is a great man, to work with, he gives you a lot.
Thanks to Rhonda for the tip.

Yeah, maybe so, but I still missed John Williams. Oh well. There were still some themes of his in Doyle's rendentitions as well... so I guess it's okay. Actually, I have to say the music was pretty good. I liked the music in POA the best!

In Germany they translate it to their language. It looks kinda werid when they aren't talking english. I saw Hermione say "Ich habe angst von dir" to Harry in the Tv the other day. funny dough.

They were really great in their parts, its strange that they filmed the end first. Its a shame that victor didn't have more speaking lines in the film. Infact there wasn't much dialogue for any of the other 3 champions.(apart from Harry of course.)

Interesting and different than the other premieres. I guess it makes sense as to why he changed the music in this movie, but the original composition for the theme will always be there! And he'll be back for the movies i'm sure.
Cool interview.
It's really good that people keep posting interviews with the stars of the movie, I really like it, it's really cool!!

I would love to see Stanislav in more movies. Even though he didn't get much screen time he was so cute! And his heavy accent was great, when you see interviews with him, he speaks very good english!
I liked the music in this film, I think Mike Newell made a good choice because I was getting tired of the same old jingle that we now associate with Harry potter being all over the place...as much as I love john williams, the films need some more variety and a change to the music as the films get darker and darker...music is a very powerful tool in the film industry anyhow

Shame on you, Newell. Your movie was good but I missed John Williams' music. Doyle's soundtrack was good but not brilliant like Williams' are. It's funny how Williams was George Lucas' choice and great composer for all six Star Wars films. Have you checked out Mr.Williams' resume? He only wrote music for the Indiana Jones movies, Jurassic Park, E.T., Jaws, Superman...the list goes on and on.

The music was really good at the Yule Ball but there should have been more scenes at the Ball. I really liked John Williams and it's a shame he didn't do this movie but i think Patrick Doyle did do a great job with the music. And Stan is a very good looking guy and i can't wait for him to be in other movies.
