Trend-tracking site BlogPulse has announced its list of the top blogs and various categories
in the "blogosphere" of 2005.
Harry Potter was #1 on their list of most-mentioned "people" and, along with Donnie Darko at #17, was the only other winner in the top 20 who wasn't a real person. Rounding out the top five were President Bush, Pope John Paul II, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.
The act of blogging exploded
this year as services made it easier for anyone to write just about anything and post it online with a click. Technorati estimated in August that new blogs were being created at a rate of 80,000 per day (or one per second).

Not suprising realy, there are other things going on in the world ither than american politics and its presidents. Harry potter is popular the world over, Bush isnt. For one thing the comments about HP will be largely positive, not negative comments like those predominantly for bush on blogs. Glad people can talk about hp more, much better subject/topic choice ;)

Awesome go Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHO cares about Bush?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
HP rocks always has always will
oh yeah also, azponydriver it would rock even more if we could just jump inside the HP books and be there as witches & wizards 4 real in all the events . if I could meet the trio, and everyone I would come back 4 my B.F.Fs and some other select few and then stay 4 ever
(except Voldemort, his Death Eaters, cronies and other sorts of evil persons)
(well, actually, it would be sssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooo cool 2 beat the crud out of Voldemort and help Harry Hermoine, Ginny, Ron, and the Order kill him 4 good :D)
*evilly malicious thoughts forming in my mind now*
*hee hee hee*

It doesn't surprise me that Harry beat out Pres. Bush at all! A) Harry Potter is much more fun to talk about because it's entertainment. B) Harry Potter is a mystery that keeps people guessing and theories flowing. C) Unlike dear Dubya, Harry Potter still has a strong following. D) There are hundreds maybe thousands of people every day who are just beginning to discover Harry Potter, while apathy for politics continues to grow...Anyway, that's my 2 cent theory on it...
