While editors placed it at eighth, they offered another interesting choice: "Best book for kids not yet ready for Harry Potter." (It's Leonardo, the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems.)
Other categories include "Worst book by a celebrity," "Best unmasking of a historical monster" and "Most overstated title."

How wonderful for HBP to be receiving such well earned praise. To have to have created a new catagory simply because nothing else could come close, great!

I enjoyed HBP tremendously. Don't know if it was the best book published in 2005, but definitely the most popular and anticipated.

Oh wow, I'm so surprised. JK probably has to make that speech as if not expecting it. Like when a superstar celebrity (in my opinion Tom Hanks) wins a oscar and he pretends he didn't see it coming.

There is no real surprise there, I think that Harry Potter is like something legendary, we probably won't see anything that draws this many fans for a long time, this is like what star wars did for the 70's or 80's or whenever it came out . . .
