Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was votedopens in new window the best book of 2005 in USA Today's Readers' Choice poll.

While editors placed it at eighth, they offered another interesting choice: "Best book for kids not yet ready for Harry Potter." (It's Leonardo, the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems.)

Other categories include "Worst book by a celebrity," "Best unmasking of a historical monster" and "Most overstated title."

I would call harry potter and the half blood prince the best book of this year, but I definatley wouldn't call it the best harry potter book out there. The book scarred me for about two weeks after I read it. I would stop seeing Ron and Lavender in my head, her sitting on top of him snogging on the couch in the commons. but I have gone past that now, in my head instead of lavender its hermione of course. But I have to admit, Half Blood prince was an amazing book.

You know it's the best, was there ever any doubt? i sure didn't have any. the sixth book is good but for me the fourth was the best. book 6 did have a lot of twist which made me keep reading it from cover to cover. I finished the book in 1 day...
