Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has been nominated for an Oscar in the Achievement in art direction category. The movie will be up against Good Night, and Good Luck, Memoirs of a Geisha, King Kong and Pride & Prejudice.
Congratulations to Stuart Craig and Stephenie McMillan.

. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on ABC on Sunday, March 5th (please check your local listings).

The art direction was brilliant in scenes like the Yule Ball and the Weasley's tent etc. A little disappointed that "Do the Hippogriff" didn't make the final list of nominees for best song. Nana-nah, Nana-nah, Nana-nah!!!

I am going to pray for them. They deserve this, and I hope they will win something out of this since GoF arts was amazing. I think its better than the nomines. I saw it this morning and I couldn;t wait to see if they had made it, hehe. Best wishes..

Harry Potter and the GoF definitely has some stiff competition. I've seen King Kong and it was awesome!! The previews for Memoirs of a Geisha looked fantastic too--I know the book is anyway.

Wow, this is so cool! I was a bit surprised not to see a nomination for special affects, since they were pretty awesome in the movie, but hey, it's still been nominated for an Oscar. FINALLY it's being recognised as something more than just a fantasy sequel kids movie, as some people might class it. It is up against some tough competition, but we might be surprised on the night. Fingers crossed.
