Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has been nominated for an Oscar in the Achievement in art direction category. The movie will be up against Good Night, and Good Luck, Memoirs of a Geisha, King Kong and Pride & Prejudice.
Congratulations to Stuart Craig and Stephenie McMillan.

. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on ABC on Sunday, March 5th (please check your local listings).

I hope GOF wins. The set decorations were great. you can't just have a castle with nothing in it - there was a lot of work that went into that movie. Even the trophy room where the champions were... There was never a dull scene in that entire movie - always something to keep your eyes on, providing you could tear your eyes away from the main characters for even a second. It should win!

Well, that's nice. At least they got A nomination. However, I think the Oscar organization is belittling the Harry Potter movies. That is just so bad. I mean, GoF is way better than the nominees in some categories.
I don't understand how they can just throw away any thoughts of nominating the movie in other categories.

Hotness! I think there biggest threat is King Kong but that movie sucked anyway. Really don't like the Oscars though because movies that don't deserve to win always do. Like that Brokeback Mountain (a story of 2 gay cowboys) has 8 nominations and only made 1/2 million in theatres. GoF made more than 5 times that amount. Oh well.
