The roles of Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks, Dolores Umbridge & Bellatrix Lestrange have been cast for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was announced
this morning.
As expected, Imelda Staunton will play new DADA teacher Professor Umbridge. The role of Luna Lovegood will be played by 14-year-old Evanna Lynch from Ireland who was one of the thousands of girls who auditioned in London a few weeks ago.
We previously mentioned that Helen McCrory had been cast as Bellatrix and now she has been officially confirmed. Ms. McCrory has appeared in Casanova and The Count of Monte Cristo as well as numerous British TV shows.
Natalia Tena, who recently appeared in Mrs. Henderson Presents with Judi Dench & Bob Hoskins will be playing hair-changing Tonks.
We finally get to see the character of Mrs. Figg who will be played by actress Kathryn Hunter, who has appeared in Orlando and All or Nothing.
Principal photography is scheduled to start on Monday, February 6 at Leavesden Studios.

Wow I am SOO excited! Luna looks almost exactly as I pictured her, AND she's an HP fan! How awesome is that! I'm hopeful that she will do a fantastic job. Sadly, I can't seem to find any pictures of the actresses for Tonks or Mrs.Figg! Hopefully they're great as well!

I'm, happy with the cast. I think she will be good as Luna she deserves it. Plus she seems to be a hardcore potter fan which is good. That just makes it that much more special for her.

I think its great that thry're well on thier way to a good beginning...The sooner they get started, the sooner they will finish! Im sure the new additions to the cast will be a perfect fit, otherwise they wouldnt have been chosen right? cant wait for the film to be released!

Although thats not how I picture Luna exactly, I think this girl is good for the part. I think once we see them in make up and costume, it's a little easier to picture the character in them.
Umbridge is absolutly PERFECT! That's exactly how I see her! I can't find any pictures of the actress for Tonks, but I'm just glad they didn't write her out!
This is really exciting, I expected some of these characters to not be included in the film, such as Mrs. Figgs and Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Ok I believe that Evanna is a great choice for Luna. We all had different versions on how Luna would look and so what if she isn't how YOU imagined. Don't judge her yet. Look what happen with Katie! Everyone hated her cause they didn't think she looked the part! Well Katie did a fantastic job as Cho and I think she's very pretty, I'm sure Evanna will do a fantastic job as Luna.

Luna looks ok, not exactly what I think they were looking for. Maybe if she were not so "cheeky", or maybe its a bad picture of her I dont know. We still have to see her acting which will have to be up to par, definitely, or else the movie will suffer badly.

I totally agree with all you guys. Evanna Lynch does not look like the Luna I had envisaged (although she is blonde) but I don't suppose that means anything. It's the acting that's important, so we'll just have to wait and see. I want more pictures of all the new cast though!
