The roles of Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks, Dolores Umbridge & Bellatrix Lestrange have been cast for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was announced
this morning.
As expected, Imelda Staunton will play new DADA teacher Professor Umbridge. The role of Luna Lovegood will be played by 14-year-old Evanna Lynch from Ireland who was one of the thousands of girls who auditioned in London a few weeks ago.
We previously mentioned that Helen McCrory had been cast as Bellatrix and now she has been officially confirmed. Ms. McCrory has appeared in Casanova and The Count of Monte Cristo as well as numerous British TV shows.
Natalia Tena, who recently appeared in Mrs. Henderson Presents with Judi Dench & Bob Hoskins will be playing hair-changing Tonks.
We finally get to see the character of Mrs. Figg who will be played by actress Kathryn Hunter, who has appeared in Orlando and All or Nothing.
Principal photography is scheduled to start on Monday, February 6 at Leavesden Studios.

I googled all those people so I could get some pictures. They seem pretty good. Not spitting images of what I saw in my mind, but they will definitely work. Evanna Lynch doesn't look anything like how I pictured Luna, but according to some of my HP friends, I didn't picture her right. I definitely think she'll work, though!

Most of those are pretty close to what I pictured the characters as. I always like to keep my own depictions in mind though when reading the books. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the movie.

Not happy at all about the casting of Tonks. I was prejudiced though, as I so wanted Laura Rees to have the part. In my mind, she was the perfect person to play Tonks.
*sigh*
Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing her in the movie.

I like who they have chosen so far. They are taking there time choosing actors to potray the roles and so far it seems like they have chosen wisely. I can't wait for them to start filming and getting a go on the film! 2007!!!!

That sucks about Imelda because I like her...and now I'll have to hate her with deed seeded passion like I've never hated anyone before. But I'm excited for everyone and to see what they'll look like. Especially Evanna because she doesn't quite look as weird as Luna looks...yet!

I'll be running a google search for their pictures. I want to see what they look like, I can see Evanna as Luna though. And Staunton does remind me of Umbridge....don't know if that's a good thing though.

I think the people they chose to cast Bellatrix (a great nemesis for Sirius!), Tonks (a cute match for Lupin) and Mrs. Figgs (she looks nice) are great, but I'm not too impressed witht heir choice for Luna. She doesn't have the wide eyed and dreamy, gangly girl thing going on.
