With all the news today about the upcoming Harry Potter film, actor Daniel Radcliffe discusses how he has prepared for his role this time around by meeting with a grief counselor so that he could understand survivor's guilt which is so prevalent in the book.
Daniel on understanding his role in Order of the Phoenix.
Sirius is clinging on to James (Harry's father and Sirius' best friend) through me, and I'm trying to know my father through him. The same thing happens with me and Cho. I was the last person there when her last boyfriend, Cedric, was killed.

Wow! I'm glad he's still taking the role seriously. I think it's a good idea he understands how people deal with grief so he can portray it correctly and convincingly. I hope everyone who sees the film cries insainly when Sirius dies. The one thing that I'll be super mad at is if they cut out There's nothing you can do Harry, nothing...he's gone." I think it's written like that but I love that line - it's so sad! They have to keep that in - then I'll cry!!!

Wow, I'm impressed! He's really getting into his role as Harry Potter more and more! OotP is my favorite out of the six books so far, but it made me sad also!! I can't stand Harry losing Sirius after all he's lost in his life already! I loved the character of Sirius too!! We haven't heard about Lupin yet though?! I can't wait for the film to be released!!

That's really cool. I think Dan defintely needs a little "prep". These stories are getting so emotional and it's hard to imagine what Harry would be going through if you have lived a pretty safe life.

That's important to have an accurate portrayal. Even with that counseling it will be difficult to truly portray such an emotion. It's one that none should wish to experience, but most will eventually.

Thats awesome that he's coming back for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Seeing a counselor would help his part in the movie because he then can the understand what Harry is going through at this time in the book. It helps out a lot because you can then get your part straight in the movie and the viewers an fans can then understand what it's like for some people to go through at this time in their lives.Plus they start filming next week which is a lot for all the cast members and new cast members in the upcoming movie.

Also, that's amazing how much work Dan has to do for a role he has been playing for around 5 years, imagine how much he will have to prepare if the are going to do the 7th movie, the Voldemort show down and stuff. There is way more behind the movie than just filming it and more behind the actors then just acting in front of the camera, I mean going to a counselor thats though work. GO DAN!!!

I am so glad Dan is back for Order of the Phoenix. Its wonderful that he puts so much extra effort into his work, seeking advice from a grief counselor was a good move, it will really show on screen, i think it will be a challenge for him to play Harry he endures so much through out the course of the book. I will most definatly begin crying when Sirius dies, its too long to waot for the film.
