With all the news today about the upcoming Harry Potter film, actor Daniel Radcliffe discusses how he has prepared for his role this time around by meeting with a grief counselor so that he could understand survivor's guilt which is so prevalent in the book.
Daniel on understanding his role in Order of the Phoenix.
Sirius is clinging on to James (Harry's father and Sirius' best friend) through me, and I'm trying to know my father through him. The same thing happens with me and Cho. I was the last person there when her last boyfriend, Cedric, was killed.

That's awesome how he prepared so deeply for the role! It really shows as actors get into their parts more and get a better understanding of their characters. Their acting becomes superb!

I think that Dan seeing a counseler to better prepare himself shows the same integerity that he showed in the filming for GoF when he insisited on doing his own stunts or as much as he could.

They really need to take that aspect seriously, and I am SO happy that they are. Dan meeting with a counselor is a great example that he's serious and wants to get to know Harry perfectly. That's what all excellent actors do. I really look forward to seeing him in OOTP, especially since OOTP is my favorite book. The filmmakers really need to get this one right. So far, so good. :)
