Gary Oldman has not yet been presented with or signed a contract to appear in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, HPANA has confirmed.
Despite a recent statement from the studio, we have learned and double-confirmed that no agreement has been made.
"At this time Gary Oldman is not set to appear in the next Potter film," manager Doug Urbanski told HPANA. "I cannot explain why the studio confirmed his appearance."
It's unlikely Oldman wouldn't reprise his role as Sirius Black in the fifth film.
Note: This does not imply he won't be in the movie, just that there's no current definitive agreement for him to appear.

Why are they doing this? This torture is not doing anyone any good. And it's a forgone conclusion that any HP movie will make oodles of money, so it's not like they have to hold out or be stingy with cash.
The characters MUST be played by the same actors otherwise this movie series will turn into a joke and I am sure there will be legions of fans that will lose interest and just not go to the cinema - at all.
If WB reads any of these posts, then they better make sure that the keep the same actors, and get this Oldman deal finalised. You can't have anyone else play him. What was that thing I learned in film school - CONTINUITY!!!! Very important. And I see that applying to using the same actors over the entire seven films as well.

I hope they dont change him , but most of all I hope he does wish to come back, well I dont think he wont, I mean, he came back for Goblet of Fire where he appears ñike two seconds with his face in the fire, why wouldnt he come back for this one if he's going to be more importanta that before....??? I really do hope that he signs for Order of the Phoenix, well I guess we all do.....
