Gary Oldman has not yet been presented with or signed a contract to appear in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, HPANA has confirmed.
Despite a recent statement from the studio, we have learned and double-confirmed that no agreement has been made.
"At this time Gary Oldman is not set to appear in the next Potter film," manager Doug Urbanski told HPANA. "I cannot explain why the studio confirmed his appearance."
It's unlikely Oldman wouldn't reprise his role as Sirius Black in the fifth film.
Note: This does not imply he won't be in the movie, just that there's no current definitive agreement for him to appear.

No, no, no... He HAS to be in it. He has to be Sirius. I don't think that any other actor could do the part at all because Gary Oldman is a genius and was absolutely brilliant. I really, really hope that he decides to sign on for the fifth movie. I think that...I know that it won't be the same with out him in it...

Warner Brothers should hurry up and send him the contract. No one else can play Sirius it wouldn't be the same, and they definitely CAN NOT cut Sirius out of the 5th movie.

I don't think I'm gonna trust this Urbanski bloke any longer...
The Warners made an official confirmation, they said Gary is gonna be in it, and so it will be.

I'm sure it's just a triviality. I believe that Mr. Oldman has already said that he would reprise his role if they wanted him to. He said it when the article came out advising that he would appear only as special effects in GOF. I agree with everyone who can see no other portraying Sirius.

I am sure that they will sign him soon. I think he just needs to sort out his stuff and then he will sign. He cant not be in the movie so I am sure its just a matter of time until they sign him.

Goodness this is getting really confusing. I sure hope that they get him to sign a contract soon because they claim he is in the movie already.
They better not mess it up.

MGentry has it right. They want him back, he wants to be back.
My guess is he is holding out for more money. Remember, when he signed for POA he was having a wee bit of trouble with the IRS and needed the cash (as opposed to just really wanting the job). Could still be a factor... ?

You know, I really don't beleive that Gary is not going to be in the Order. For one thing, everyone now knows what Sirius Black looks like in the movie...We saw him in the Prisoner! If they get a new person, it just wouldn't be the same. Gary Oldman is perfect for this part, therefore he should play it!
I think they're all just messing with us. It's the same thing when they say, "Yeah, we don't think Daniel will be playing the role for Harry Potter anymore, when the 6th and 7th movie roles around." They're joshn' with us, because they know that they can't change the main character's part. If they do this, there will be a lot of angry fans!

Well the marauders should be a lot younger than Gary and David but since they started them at this age, they should keep with it.
I am sure it will work out to be Gary.

Warner Bros. should have gotten a signed contract before making such an announcement. An they really should have signed all he actors before filming started and released the cast list all at once. I t would have saved all the fans from having panic attacks about who's in it and who's playing who. I hope Gary Oldman gets his contract soon and signs it.

If there is no Sirius Black in OOTP- then the movie would be pretty messed up. I think that Warner Brothers are going to take Gary Oldman. I think they have to be paitient. They haven't given out roles to alot of people yet.
