No 'Sirius' deal yet, says Oldman's manager

Gary Oldman has not yet been presented with or signed a contract to appear in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, HPANA has confirmed.
Despite a recent statement from the studio, we have learned and double-confirmed that no agreement has been made.
"At this time Gary Oldman is not set to appear in the next Potter film," manager Doug Urbanski told HPANA. "I cannot explain why the studio confirmed his appearance."
It's unlikely Oldman wouldn't reprise his role as Sirius Black in the fifth film.
Note: This does not imply he won't be in the movie, just that there's no current definitive agreement for him to appear.

He's a good actor but I won't be totally disappointed if he's not in the movie. He was mediocre to me. I imagine Sirius of having a young spirit so it would be nice to have someone young and actually have his essence instead of putting some famous guy.

The movie just has to have Sirius in it to make sense. Recasting Sirius at this point would just be stupid and I seriously think a lot of people would not go to see it if they did. The studio better come up with a good deal soon, or it'll be their serious loss (no pun intended...really).

Personally, I've never been keen on Gary Oldman as Sirius (Though they definitely could have done worse)... or the overly sentimental way they portrayed him in the third film. I do agree that it's annoying that they may have to switch out an actor two movies into his role.
[sigh] Still wishing they'd cast Rufus Sewell as Sirius in the first place.
Chances are, he'll come back, no worries.
