Tonight in London, the Black Family Tree that Harry Potter author JK Rowling sketched and donated to Book Aid International was on display for the public to preview before tomorrow's auction. A report by a fan who attended the preview is now available online, with additional names and details that were previously withheld.
Here's a tidbit of the fan report regarding those seven names that were burned-off -- the "black sheep", as mentioned in Order of the Phoenix (numbered to match with those marks on this image of the tree):
The fan report, with a full listing of the other members of the Black family, is now available at HP Lexicon
. For additional information regarding tomorrow's auction of this JK Rowling sketch, please visit Bloomsbury Auctions.

I love how much thought JK puts into her characters and their pasts and families. Very cool that we got a report on what else was on the family tree donated for auction.

I think that family trees are wonderful;however, I think that the Black family tree is extremely sad as they are the most closed minded bunch of people. All that trouble just to prove that they are superior.

How could Severus Snape belong to the gang of Slytherins(in Hogwarts) which included Bellatrix Black (born in 1951!!) when he is around 8 (born in 1959 or 1960) years younger than her?
Gof chapter 27, Sirius made this statement.
There is something fishy with Sirius`conclusion.

How very cool. The Black Family tree is one of those cool things andd details that makes the book come alive. I also can't wait to see what the Black family crest looks like. J.K. Rowling's didn't describe it to well.

I know I should be grateful for what 'is' shown, but I wish I could see further detail. For example, are Dorea and Charlus Potter the grandparents of James Potter and great grandparents of Harry? In which case, he would be distantly (very distantly) related to Draco. That'd go down well wouldn't it? NOT!!!! It also doesn't show Araminta Meliflua who Sirius says was a cousin of his mothers. It's true what it says isn't it. "There are many stories between the lines".

I appreciate the bits of information we're receiving regarding the Black family tree and what's on it, especially the information surrounding the "burned off" seven.

It's so cool to see all the witches and wizards that are related! Though, Sirius did say that all Pure-Bloods are related... but it makes a lot more sense while reading the books to know who's related to who!

Talk about a lot of history to remember!
The Black's family tree is huge! J.K. probably helped donate a lot of money from that, especially if she drew it out! That's awesome!

One of the more interesting articles that I have read. I love finding detailed histories especially of family lines. It means that the author put time and effort into developing these characters.
