Warner Home Video announced
earlier this evening that approximately 5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were sold in North America on the first day. Business is expected to continue through the Spring making the film's franchise one of the best selling DVD franchises in history.
Ron Sanders, President, Warner Home Video said:
We knew fans really connected with this installment in the Harry Potter series, and that continued loyalty to the franchise has carried over to these phenomenal DVD sales figures.

Obviously, everybody's been swarming different local stores, like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and the closest grocery shop that sells movies to get their hands on their very own copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I bought the Deluxe Edition - I'm so happy I'll be watching it soon. Also, I'm going to spend all my time watching the special features! It's going to be great. Five million copies, I wish I had a dollar for every one they're going to sell within the next six months, or fifty cents even, it doesn't matter to me. If I did get fifty cents for every copy sold I'd already have two and a half million dollars, so who cares! Oh well, dare to dream, but don't dream not too much, you'll drive yourself mad. I'm an exception, though, all that would happen is I'd be driven even madder than I already am! Haha Bye for now.
