Warner Home Video announced
earlier this evening that approximately 5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were sold in North America on the first day. Business is expected to continue through the Spring making the film's franchise one of the best selling DVD franchises in history.
Ron Sanders, President, Warner Home Video said:
We knew fans really connected with this installment in the Harry Potter series, and that continued loyalty to the franchise has carried over to these phenomenal DVD sales figures.

I got mine on Friday, March 10th, 2006. The only bad thing is that my parents wanted me to purchase the 1 disc Full-Screen edition since it was cheaper($14.95 or the deluxe for $19.95) The only problem is that I don't have any of the special features. I so regret buying the "cheaper" editon. I wonder which idiot made the 4th DVD like that. I was originally going to purchase the 2 disc version, but I decided to get the 1 disc edition. I still think that WB should have released all the versions with 2 discs. Those dumb DVD release people!

Wow, that is an amazing amount of DVD's. I bought a copy, so I contributed to that amount. I am not surprised that GoF sold that much, so many people were waiting for the DVD to come out. Way to go Goblet of Fire!!
