Warner Home Video announced
earlier this evening that approximately 5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were sold in North America on the first day. Business is expected to continue through the Spring making the film's franchise one of the best selling DVD franchises in history.
Ron Sanders, President, Warner Home Video said:
We knew fans really connected with this installment in the Harry Potter series, and that continued loyalty to the franchise has carried over to these phenomenal DVD sales figures.

I could probably be really excited about this if, as I sat here typing, I was actually watching the DVD. However, Amazon has not gotten mine to me, yet. I had to call and ask them why I would buy it from them rather than going to the store, if they weren't going to make an attempt to get it to me in a timely manner. They didn't have an answer.

I went to work early yesterday morning so I could pick up the DVD before starting. Goblet of Fire was in my hands at approx. 8:13am, Calgary time! I haven't watched it yet, but am off sick from work tomorrow, and hopefully watching it will make me feel better.
