At last nights Empire Awards ceremony
, Harry Potter producer David Heyman spoke about Order of the Phoenix filming, Jason Isaacs voiced his hope that he would be back and Daniel Radcliffe went against the grain & stated that the fifth book is actually one of his favorites: "The third and the fifth are my favourites, which is a very uncommonly held opinion."
David on what has actually been filmed to date and how long filming will take:
We've done a little bit of action so far. We've done some stuff involving centaurs and Grawp, who is Hagrid's 16ft brother. The kids have to act against a lot of blue screen for characters like Grawp, but thankfully, they're used to that by now.
We're actually shooting until the middle of May and then we break up for two months so the kids can do exams. Then we pick up in July and we shoot until October or November.
Jason discusses his wish to remain with the series:
I hope so - you'll have to ask David. I can't bear the idea that somebody else would get to wear my Paris Hilton wig, but you never know.
Daniel gives his take on the fifth book:
I think the problem is that Harry can bee seen to come across as quite petulant in the book, and I don't actually think that's the case. I think when JK Rowling puts things in capital letters I don't think that necessarily means he's shouting. It could just refer to the sort of energy behind what he's saying. I think that's one of things that people object to about the book, is that they don't want a manic-depressive superhero.
Also thanks to Paul for letting us know that you can see a transcript and video (can take a while to load in Quicktime) of the acceptance speech of David and the trio.
UPDATE: Additionally, BBC Radio 1 reports that today Dan will be filming the kissing scene with Cho Chang, in which he says: "It'll be odd because one of my parents will be on set." Click here to read what the young actor plans to do about it. Thanks to Cristal for the tip.

That book was so big, I expect a lot of things to be cut and there's a lot material that has to be there.

I'd like to see how all of us would act if we were to go through everything Harry has gone through. If it had been me, I'd have blown my gasket by book two at least! Also, I can't imagine Lucius being played by anyone but Jason Isaacs! And they better sign Gary Oldman, too. This is such an important book, and if other actors end up portraying these roles, I won't go. I will in no way be able to gather up any emotion whatsoever for those characters (especially Sirius!) if other actors end up in those roles. OOTP can't hide behind action like GOF did, as there is much more character development and far less action than there was in GOF. Luckily it sounds like Dan has his head on straight about how Harry is in OOTP and I have all the faith in the world that he'll do Harry in this film justice--as long as the director doesn't screw things up. Hope springs eternal...

If the script says Harry doesn't shout, Dan can't shout, if the director wants something, Dan has to do it that way, so it depends on many things.
I really like how Dan talks about the books, I think he knows perfecly how Harry is, so I hope they listen him.
It's great to read all those things about the movie.

"times", you know, and he's some kind of "jealous" because Ron and Hermine were together with the others and he's been left alone. Of course he's angry - and he is shouting at his friends (for which I hated him several chapters). I'm sure of that. If your opinion is some other ... let me know ... don't let me know ... Its cool how he's just as interested in Harry's character and the books and stuff as all of us! But I thought his NO-THIS-AINT-SHOUTING remark a bit vague... To me, Harry shouts and he has more than enough reasons to do so (it doesnt mean he doesnt value his friends, he's just dealing with terrible stuff and he has to let go of that negative energy thru the shouting)...

It's not Dan's decision if Harry shouts or not in the movie. It's the scriptwriter, the director and producers who decide that. Unfortunately they only care about what the old actors have to say (who actually are the ones who don't read the books...).
So if he shouts in the movie, it's becuase the script and director says it.
About the book, everyone can do his own interpretation, someone can think Harry was shouting, and other people can think the capital letters where reinforzing Harry's words. It's just about different opinions. And if the script says Harry is not shouting, Dan has to think Harry was not shouting.
Sorry Y:h., but if you don't care about what other people's opinion are, why are you writing here?

Very excited to hear they've already started so much! Can't wait for OotP, it seems like it'll be so long in coming, but I'm sure it'll go past fast.
I have a lot happening in 2006- my little sister getting married at the end of July, my best friend getting married at the beginning of September, and hopefully my husband and I will be successfull in our attempts to start a family- I'd love to have had a baby before OotP comes out, since I'm planning a Harry Potter themed nursery, it'd be great to have OotP happen at the same time!!!
