At last nights Empire Awards ceremony
, Harry Potter producer David Heyman spoke about Order of the Phoenix filming, Jason Isaacs voiced his hope that he would be back and Daniel Radcliffe went against the grain & stated that the fifth book is actually one of his favorites: "The third and the fifth are my favourites, which is a very uncommonly held opinion."
David on what has actually been filmed to date and how long filming will take:
We've done a little bit of action so far. We've done some stuff involving centaurs and Grawp, who is Hagrid's 16ft brother. The kids have to act against a lot of blue screen for characters like Grawp, but thankfully, they're used to that by now.
We're actually shooting until the middle of May and then we break up for two months so the kids can do exams. Then we pick up in July and we shoot until October or November.
Jason discusses his wish to remain with the series:
I hope so - you'll have to ask David. I can't bear the idea that somebody else would get to wear my Paris Hilton wig, but you never know.
Daniel gives his take on the fifth book:
I think the problem is that Harry can bee seen to come across as quite petulant in the book, and I don't actually think that's the case. I think when JK Rowling puts things in capital letters I don't think that necessarily means he's shouting. It could just refer to the sort of energy behind what he's saying. I think that's one of things that people object to about the book, is that they don't want a manic-depressive superhero.
Also thanks to Paul for letting us know that you can see a transcript
and video
(can take a while to load in Quicktime) of the acceptance speech of David and the trio.
UPDATE: Additionally, BBC Radio 1 reports that today Dan will be filming the kissing scene with Cho Chang, in which he says: "It'll be odd because one of my parents will be on set." Click here
to read what the young actor plans to do about it. Thanks to Cristal for the tip.

I can see this fast becoming the BEST harry potter movie so far. (Even though when half blood becomes a movie I am sure it will be more then great) My faverate part in order of the pheonix has always been the Dumbaldors Army Training with harry potter. NOT becasue harry teaches it BUT becasue it brings together alot of charectors that proberly would NOT have been given a chance. LONGBOTTOM comes to mind not only as an example BUUT the most important example yhat could be given. UNTIL then I dont think many realized how important longbottoms family was to the potter universe.

Its always interesting to hear what the actors have to say about the films and the books...I think Dan has a point where when JK write in capital letters, doesnt always mean Harry is shouting...it could just be her way of bringing attention to an important piece of info. Or he might just have been shouting, who knows? he he Glad to know filming is going so well :)

I love that the big stars that are in HP still feel excited about the movies and it's nice to hear Dans' take on his character, he really seems to research it well. Can't wait to see what grawp looks like and I bet the centaurs look completely different to CoS. Oh well, i'll just have to wait and see! (Unfortunately)

I wasn't too sure about OotP when it first came out because it took a while to get into, I still loved it but not as much as the others, but after reading and re-reading it is now probably my favourite. All the brilliant memorable things come from OotP, Umbridge, Banning quidditch, Department of Mysteries, Luna... I could go on for ages but I won't. Can't wait to see come to life on the big screen!

Oh man. I'm soooo excited for OoP! Harry was very very annoying in the fifth book..all that darn shouting. I'm going to have to disagree with Dan on that one. I think JKR has a very specific idea of what Harry spends his time doing in OoP, and that is YELLING. He yells at Hermione and Ron a whole bunch. Basically, Harry pulls off a "poor pitiful me" attitude, and although it does get old, it is exactly what I would be doing were I in Harry's situation. I'm so glad they aren't going to get rid of Gwarp. I was afraid they might, (like they did with SPEW) but I'm glad they aren't. (Espeically because Gwarp helps get rid of Umbridge!) Anway...good luck to the cast/crew on the Fifth Film, and good luck to Dan/Emma/everyone else on their Exams!

Manic depressive superhero? they are all manic depressive people, superman mopeing about because he cant be with lois and annoyed he cant just be human, and lets not forget spiderman, teen angst expert. Ahaha perfect. Have to say i thought harry was shouting with capitals, thats generaly what theyre for, dont agree with dans taste in book faves...POA yes, but not OOTP.
Glad theyve started filming, makes sence theyd do the blue screen things first, must take a long time to develop the animated characters, probably do it while theyre doing the rest of the film. Coolies :D

Man, the one part I was hoping would be cut out were the Grawp scenes. I know that's blasphemous, but I could've lived without it. But that's an interesting shooting schedule. I guess that means we won't be seeing any movie till 2008. Drat.

HeadmistressMcGonagall, you can be right, but if the scriptwriter didn't see it like that, Dan has to understand it the way the scritwriter/director says. And that's the way he has to explain it to us.
Catfish on the table, have you ever been inside that collenge? do you think they will film all the Room of Requirements there? :)
You should email HPANA and the other HP sites and inform them!! maybe we can get some pics!
